Monday, May 4

breakfast: a quaker chewy granola bar, and some iced tea with a few drops of liquid sweetener
snack: edy's strawberry whole fruit bar
lunch: tuna with whole grain quinoa and green beans
dinner: blue plate special (hamburger, pasta, and tomato sauce)
lots of water throughout the day, and 2 fiber choice tablets.

total calories: 1211 plus however many calories an apple is, as i fully intend on having one when i get home later.

Kevin and I took a walk to a park near his house and played catch for about 40 minutes. my lower back has been straining lately so i've decided i need to take up yoga again for sure. at least 20 minutes every day. also i have to get into the habit of stretching before i do any sort of physical activity.

  1. couple things I noticed..
**Calorie counting is great, but you need to make sure you're getting the *right* calories. Break it down and keep track of carbs/protein/fat.
**Were you low energy and craving food that morning? That much sugar will throw your body. I love you Sami, but if you wanna lose weight you're going to have to do better for breakfast. That edy's snack bar is *nothing* but sugar! You should be eating more calorie-dense foods. Might I recommend..
Breakfast: Oatmeal (Steal Cut Oats are better) with raisins or blueberries. And some protein of sorts is great!
    Snack: Fruit or Nuts

P.S. Even better than Iced Tea - is GREEN TEA! I've also gotten a thing for Yogi Tea..

  2. don't like oatmeal...

i'm not giving up the edy's whole fruit bars. i'm addicted to ice cream and that's the only way i can get even close. little else i'm eating has much sugar in it, so i'm allowing myself small things. the quaker chewy bar was what threw me yesterday. it was my last one and i won't be buying them again. i know they're only 90 calories or whatever, but too much other crap i don't want.

i have been trying to keep track of what kind of calories i've been consuming. i already take in a lot of protein, and i'm working on getting enough specific vitamins and minerals and fiber.

dinner yesterday couldn't be helped. it rarely can be when i eat at kevin's house. his dad is a diabetic with cholesterol problems, but all they eat is shit because that's all his mom knows how to make. going forward i'm either going to plan to go there after they've eaten, or being something for myself.

thank you for the chronometer thing (it's way easier to use and easier to access than mypyramidtracker.gov- and has info for more of the things i eat daily listed). i just wish i could put in my daily activities.

  3. I liked your "not giving up" line. I said the same thing about Cheese, alas, I've Xed it out of my diet unless it appears in a sald when I'm out to eat. See what you can do to alter your favorites - or transform them completely! Every put fruit in the freezer? It almost gives you the same feel...

Baby steps, sweetie. you're doing great :)
